Why is there a stereotype that British food is bad?

I swear the people who came up with this had no idea what they were on about. We don't do much for presentation I'll give 'em that but after a long day there isn't usually something much better than a roast. Taking a stroll by the seaside, fish and chips goes down so well. Then you've got things like scones, cream, and jam, apple pie, and loads of different types of cake. There's more to it than that but I don't see why it's been labelled bad.
