I need help. will this work?

Im going overseas on holiday to kuala lumper. before i go i would like to know the following. If i buy all those overseas- illeagal cheap ps3 disks they sell for like $2.00 (games). Will they work on my ps3 at my house in adelaide- australia and is it safe to run them?(Can i get a yellow light of death o will my ps3 screw up) plz be serious people, i need PRO'S TO ANSWER I DONT WANT TO STUFF UP MY 500$ PS3!!!!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
