Arriving in Kuala Lumpur on Air Asia flight with family. How hard is it to get to hotels etc?

I am arriving in December in KL with my wife and 18 month son. We are arriving from a flight on Air Asia. So we will be arriving at the low cost carrier terminal, which apparently is not the regular international airport. I want to spend a couple of nights in KL and then head back to the same airport to then fly to London. Does anyone have advice on how hard it is to get to a hotel in KL from here? I havent booked a hotel yet because I am keen to get some advice first. Are taxis reasonable? I would be in the taxi for an hour. Any other advice on this concern would be appreciated.
