37 weeks and pains in abdomen?

It's my first baby and for about an hour today I was getting pains in on and off...they felt like they could be contractions but I went and had a shower and they went.Today I was sitting an exam and started feeling really dizzy like I would faint and I started going delirious and was shaking and went kind of cold...but it subsided after a while...Could this be like the start of labour? I know it's not really labour until I have regular contractions but does this mean it could start in a few days? I never really had braxton hicks but I was in a lot of pain today.The only reason I didn't go to the doctors was because I can feel the baby move and know he is fine..
